Emmace opens a third leg within our analysis service area. Thanks to a collaboration agreement in place with Lund University we can offer two unique services,

Particle-Induced X-ray Emission (PIXE)

This is a powerful method for multi-elemental analysis of solid samples at low concentrations, such as aerosol samples. One application is to do elemental analysis of aerosol particles emitted from a medical device or inhaler. Another application is to detect trace elements in biomedical samples. Emmace take care of the sample preparation from your device/inhaler, the measurement, as well as the evaluation and explanation of data together with experienced PIXE experts.

Aerosol Mass Spectrometry (AMS)

The Aerosol Mass Spectrometer (AMS) combines size-resolved particle selection with mass spectrometry for components of submicron aerosol particles. An advantage with the technique is that the measurements are performed in real-time, with high time resolution. Examples of applications,

  • Detection and analysis of submicron foreign particles emitted from medical devices/inhalers
  • Assessment of particle composition changes over time.

The full list of advanced analytical services is found here and don’t hesitate to reach out to us if you would like to know more about what Emmace can offer.
